Alma Concha | Jemez Storyteller Artist | Penfield Gallery of Indian Arts | Albuquerque | New Mexico ALMA CONCHA learned to make storytellers and pottery at a young age, having been influenced by her mother, Carrie Ried Loretto, and sisters, Lupe Lucero, Fannie Loretto, and Mary Toya (d). Alma specializes in making traditional hand built clay figures and storytellers, koshari or clown figurines, and nativity sets. Alma has won awards at various shows, including the Santa Fe Indian Market and the New Mexico State Fair. She has appeared in many books and articles as a result of her artistic talent.
