BARBARA GONZALES is a well known traditional potter from San Ildefonso Pueblo located 20 miles northwest of Santa Fe. Barbara learned from her great-great grandmother, Maria Martinez. Barbara's pots are traditionally made but different than Maria's in that they show a more contemporary look with inlaid turquoise and coral and a contemporary spider design always included as part of her signature. Barbara shows annually at Santa Fe Indian Market and Eight Northern in Ohkay Owingeh or formerly San Juan Pueblo.
