TROY SICE is a very talented Zuni fetish carver whose Elk Antler dancing bear fetishes are whimsical and very popular. His bears are decorated with squash blossom necklaces, heishi beads, and bolo ties that are adorned with frogs, and inlaid minerals and stone. Troy's grandfather, George Haloo Chee Chee, and uncles, Ramie and Miguel Haloo, were all accomplished fetish carvers. Gabe Sice, Troy's half-brother and Claudia Peina, his half-sister are very accomplished artiss and fetish carvers. Troy shows at Santa Fe Indian Market among other native shows. Troy won first place in the Zuni fetish classification division at Santa Fe Indian Market in 2011 and won First Place Award at 2012 Santa Fe Indian Market for Mixed Media Category. Troy won the Native People's Magazine Creativity Award in the 2013 Santa Fe Indian Market. Troy Sice won Best of Class in Sculpture 2015 SWAIA Indian Market for "Warrior Mouse and Owl Set." Troy placed Second in the Traditional Pueblo Fetish division in the 2017 Santa Fe Indian Market. . Troy was awarded Best of Class Sculpture 2019 SWAIA Indian Market. | |||
