Rita Johnson is a fine Navajo sandpainter, creating both tradtitional and pictorial sandpaintings. Rita is from the Sheep Springs area on the western side of the Navajo reservation in New Mexico. Penfield Gallery's original owners, Julia & Ted Reidy, purchased Navajo sandpaintings from Rita and her mother, Jeannette (d), and her brother-in-law, David Lee (d), for many years. Rita's Navajo sandpaintings are popular among buyers of all backgrounds. | ||
