Jeanette Johnson was a prolific Navajo sandpainter from the Sheep Springs, NM area north of Gallup, NM on the Navajo reservation. Jeanette died a few years ago. Penfield started buying sandpaintings from Jeanette in the 1970s. Jeanette was a friend of the original founder and owner of Penfield Gallery in Old Town, Julia Penfield Reidy. | ||
