Caroline learned to make Jemez pottery froom her mother, Cecelia Loretto. Caroline's grandmother was Acoma potter, Lupe Aragon, and her sister is Jemez potter, Geraldine Sandia. Penfield has bought Caroline's pottery pieces for years, and have sold her traditional stone polished and natural clay Jemez pots worldwide.
