ZUNI PUEBLO FETISH CARVER

Faye Quandalacey | Zuni Fetish Carver | Penfield Gallery of Indian Ars | Albuquerque | New Mexico

FAYE Quandalacey carves mostly Zuni Maidens or Corn Maidens using picasso marble, malachite, lapis, green snail shell, and marble. Faye and her family members are magnificent Zuni carvers that have contributed immensely to the development of fetish carving at Zuni Pueblo. Faye is one of the main reasons that the art of corn maiden carving at Zuni took off in the late 1970s. Faye's fetish carver siblings include Sandra, Georgia, Albenita, Stewart, Andres and Avery.
